The incentive behind prioritising environmental, social and governance considerations in investment is not just ethical but also financial. Companies lose out financially if they do not behave appropriately. We consider ESG as part of risk management.
European leadership
European equities are at the forefront of the clean energy transition. The European Union opened an Emission Trading Scheme in 2005 and European companies have over a decade’s head start on the rest of the world in assessing and reducing emissions in industrial processes.
When carbon is included in the cost of production, European industrial businesses have a competitive edge globally. This is a strategic advantage for European equities which we seek to exploit in our portfolios.
ESG Momentum
Just as we invest in companies with an improving earnings outlook, we seek to invest in companies that are well placed to improve their ESG credentials. This means we are more interested in a company’s future ESG performance than its current performance.
We engage with our investments to support and encourage their steps towards the clean energy transition.

We have developed our own Responsible Investment Policy which provides an overview of the firm’s approach to:
- Environmental, social and governance considerations in our investment process
- Stewardship, engagement and voting considerations in our investment process
- Our contribution towards a sustainable finance ecosystem
ESG Commitments
We are signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).
We are also supporters of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
Our Luxembourg SICAV is an Article 8 Compliant product under the Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation.
Climate Neutral
We support achievement of the Paris Climate Change Agreement objectives of limiting the level of temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius and of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
We are a climate neutral company. We calculate our own greenhouse gas footprint and fully offset our emissions through carbon credits purchased via Gold Standard.
